CREDIT CARD and INFORMATION SECURITY


We know that our customers are concerned with making sure that any web site they use is set up for SECURE online credit card transactions... secure for your credit cards and for any other information sent to us.

www.thepackratsatoz.com has taken all the necessary security measures needed to protect you. Our secure shopping cart uses Authorize.Net for a Secure Gateway. Our SSL Encryption Technology uses an encryption bit rate of 128. We've taken the time to explain this a little more in the next paragraph.

 
SSL ENCRYPTION TECHNOLOGY
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and is the standard for encrypting data over an unsecured or open network. The higher the encryption bit rate (i.e.: 128), the harder it is to decipher or crack. Your credit card information (i.e.: name and address) is encrypted or scrambled before it is sent over an open network. The encrypted information is then transmitted to a specific destination, in our case, a credit card clearinghouse. If by chance, the data is "captured" during the transaction, the snoop or anonymous individual would only receive garbled letters and numbers- not the credit card information. Once the encrypted data reaches its' destination, the credit card clearinghouse computer system has a unique key that unlocks the data and processes the order.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
The information we collect at any of The Pack Rats domains, pertains only to processing any "goods" or services. The Pack Rats must obtain the following data: name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number, e-mail address and credit card information to process any orders made by the consumer on any of the The Pack Rats domains. This information is used strictly for credit card authorization and shipping purposes only.
 
WHO DO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH

ADVERTISING
Information is collected about you when you view or click on advertising. Such information is benign and generally requires no personal information. The Pack Rats provide anonymous statistics and web impressions as a service to our trusted advertisers- a common and acceptable practice of ascertaining web traffic.

GOVERNMENT
In some cases, law-enforcement agencies acting under subpoena power, may request information concerning our clients or advertisers. The Pack Rats cannot impede the power of the federal justice system, however, whenever possible The Pack Rats will notify the defendant of the possible investigation.

VENDORS
The Pack Rats must provide certain information (name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number) to credit card processing centers to receive approval for any "goods" or services sold through any of the The Pack Rats domains. We must also provide information (name, address, city, state, zip) to the shipping company that sends out our packages. The Pack Rats does not disclose any personal or financial information to advertisers or to any third-party accounts. We only use personal data to process a client's order on any of The Pack Rats domains.
