This beautiful pair of ice tongs has large, bold handles
and very unusual crescent shaped ends on the arms.
There are some unintelligible stamped letters on one arm - only " CLI" is readable.
13 ¾ inches tall and heavy (2 lbs. 15 oz.).

[2950] Hand Forged Ice or Log Tongs

These Tongs have a very unusual shape. They were probably custom made to pick up a particular size log. The hand forging is very apparent in the handle area. 18 inches - 2 lbs 11 oz.

12 ½ in. tall and weighing only 1 lb., this type of ice tong was used by the housewife to remove the old, melted down block of ice from the ice box before the ice man came. Originally it was painted silver.
